Day 272 - soup or stew

This was everything in the fridge and a ham hock, put in a pot and simmered for a few hours. It was so rich and thick. Truly delectable!

Day 271 - Pork Belly - finally!

We were meant to have this dish thursday night. It is twice cooked pork belly. Thursday night we had a last minute meal with Catherine and Mark, Friday night we were meant to have it but Morry forgot to come home, Saturday night we were meant to have jeff and jacki over to dinner, but that didnt eventuate, so here it is, twice cooked pork belly with more green things. I must be craving something in green veggies, I simply cant get enough at the moment!

Day 269 - Catherine bought a cow

It was scouts night, the weather was crap, and Catherine defrosted half a cow... So I slow roasted some tomatos, morry added mushrooms, ans steamed brussel sprouts and sugar snaps.

The meat was simply amazing, BBQ and served with mustard. Much tastier and richer than what I buy at the butcher

Day 268 - Tandoori Chicken

We had chicken, yoghurt, tomato and red capsicum - Voila, dinner!

Day 267 - Baked chicken

A bit borning maybe but tasty

Thailand - the food

My internet connection hasnt been working (love you Telstra - NOT!)

So here is an update of all the things Ive eaten. Starting with Thailand

This was possibly my favourite dish while we were away. Railay Bay is a backpackers paradise. And the only food they do well is thai. Any western dishes should be approached with extreme caution.
This was deepfried barramundi with Tamarind sauce.

Lovely Larb and a prawn dish

The seafood buffet. So fresh! So yummy!

I love fish

After our 'backpacking' experience, we stayed at a super resort called the JW Marriot.

Their Japanese restaurant is simply one of the best restaurants I have eaten at anywhere.

Above, tempura prawns and a spinach dish.
Below, Boston Lobster and asparagus apetiser.

Resort pizza. A popular lunch.
The boys had thai food breakfast, lunch and dinner in Railay, so at the resort they mainly went Italian!

Kabuki House Salad. OMG! I ate it almost every night.
  Im not exagerating.

Morry ate adventurously, while I ate Kabuki Salad

Day 229 - 242 - The Drinks

Margarita

There was A LOT of Asahi Draught beer consumed over the 2 weeks. The Japanese restaurant Kabuki was something special

Breakfast juices - Guava, Pineapple, watermelon and Mango

Mid afternoon drinks at the Renaissance - Kids in kids club!

Too much beer at Kabuki, so wine at the Thai restaurant Ginja

Day 221 - 228 THAILAND/Railay Bay

We went to Thailand for 3 weeks for a family holiday. The first week was spent in a fabulous backpacking spot near Krabi called Railay Bay. Its an old favourite spot for us, here is some of the food we ate.

This is Railay

Chicken Larb (oh so spicy! utterly fantastic) & some kind of prawn dish !?!

The fish selection at our bungalows

The top end restaurant at Phra Nag - its the first time we have ever eaten there!

Every night, the boys prepared themselves for dinner by arming themselves with a spade... perfect entertainment for them while we chilled out with a beer!

The best dish we ate all holiday - Tamarind Barramundi. It doesnt get better than this!

Leaving Railay.

Till next time.
